Hogar Infantil Jesús Nazareno, Inc. ( HIJN ) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, duly incorporated with the Department of State of Puerto Rico and certified by the Department of the Family. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving home to children from 3 to 8 years old who have been victims of abuse, abandonment and violence, offering them a protective family environment. Since its founding on October 23, 1987 , HIJN has welcomed and cared for more than 975 minors from all over the island.

We are accredited by the Joint Commission under the category of 'Program Behavioral Health Care and Human Services' , which reflects our commitment to excellence in child care.

Our therapeutic approach is based on the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Model (TF-CBT), recognized for its effectiveness in treating childhood trauma. We adapt our therapeutic model to the individual needs of each child, combining therapies and activities designed to address the emotional and behavioral effects of trauma. We have a specialized team of professionals and volunteers who provide emotional support, teach coping skills, and promote a safe and nurturing environment.

Services offered include individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, parenting techniques, play therapy, and recreational and artistic activities that foster creative expression and emotional healing. Additionally, we provide educational support through tutoring, ensuring that each child receives the help needed to succeed academically. At HIJN we also understand the importance of comprehensive care, which is why children receive regular checkups from pediatricians, dentists, nutritionists, audiologists, and other professionals, ensuring their physical well-being and healthy development.
